Rebuilt, repaired and used crane parts

A worn crane part does not always need a new one. We rebuild cylinders, repair valves, gearboxes and radio remotes, and find good used parts for older cranes, in our shop in Orlando, Florida.

A new part is not always the best answer for an older crane. It can be slow to come, priced for a new machine, or no longer made at all. Robert's Diesel Works has repaired cranes at 906 West Gore St in Orlando since 1989, so for many parts we can offer two more choices: repair or rebuild the part you already have, or a good used part out of another crane.

Parts we rebuild and repair

  • Hydraulic cylinders: resealed with a new seal kit, or rebuilt with the rod, gland or piston repaired or replaced. Boom, extension, outrigger, jib, tilt and swing cylinders.
  • Control valves: valve banks and sections cleaned, resealed and tested; holding and counterbalance valves replaced.
  • Pumps and PTOs: diagnosed first, then repaired or replaced.
  • Rotation gearboxes and swing drives: bearings, seals and gears.
  • Hoists (winches): motors, brakes and gearboxes.
  • Radio remote controls: the transmitter, the receiver, the harness and the valve bank, diagnosed properly instead of by swapping parts until something works.
  • Boom wear parts: slide pads, pins and bushings replaced, worn bores repaired.

Tell us what the part is doing, or not doing, and we will tell you whether it is worth rebuilding before you send it.

Sending us a part to rebuild

  • Step 1. Call (877) 697-6272 or use the form below with the crane's make, model and serial number and what the part is doing.
  • Step 2. We tell you whether it looks like a reseal, a rebuild or a replacement, and roughly what each costs.
  • Step 3. Ship the part to the shop, or bring it in, and we quote the repair once it is apart.
  • Step 4. You decide. If a rebuild is not worth it, we quote a new or used replacement instead.

Used crane parts

Used parts are how an older crane stays in service. We find used cylinders, valve banks, gearboxes, hoists, boom sections, outrigger parts and radio remote parts for knuckle boom cranes, boom trucks and service truck cranes, and we tell you the condition of a used part before you buy it. Seals, hoses, filters and wire rope we only sell new.

Repaired, rebuilt or new: which to choose

  • Rebuild yours when the part is sound and only the seals, bearings or wear parts are gone. It usually costs the least and the part is known to fit.
  • Used when the part is damaged beyond repair, the crane is older and a new part is slow or no longer made.
  • New when the part wears out by design, or when a new one costs little more than a rebuild.

We quote more than one if you ask, and we say on the quote which one it is.

Bringing the whole crane

If the crane needs more than one part, bring it to the shop. We reseal cylinders on the crane, chase hydraulic leaks, repair cracks around the base and outriggers, and fix the truck under the crane. See crane repair in Orlando and hydraulic cylinders and seal kits.
